3. CAMPAIGNS
3.1. Campaign Selection
Once the player clicks the Campaigns icon, a window will appear requesting which campaign the player wishes to play.
The player can choose the Learning Campaign, one of a number of official campaigns, or a custom campaign created with the Scenario Editor. Assuming that the campaign file is in the custom campaigns folder, it will be available for selection.
The player also has the option to load a campaign game (which takes him so the Load Game window), or view a recording saved in a campaign game (see Game Recording).
The player can also choose Cancel to return to the main menu.
3.2. Campaign Menu
(See attached file)
Once the player has chosen his campaign, the above screen elements are displayed. The standard main menu background becomes noticeably darker to indicate that it cannot be selected.
The Campaign Menu has the following elements:
** Campaign Heading:* The name of the campaign, eg: Rise of Rome. ** Campaign Description:* A description of the campaign the player has selected to play. ** Scenario Selection* (1-9): A list of the missions in the campaign. The player can choose which scenario to play or replay. The campaign must be completed in sequence, so a scenario only becomes available once the scenario has been completed or if it is the next scenario yet to be completed. The currently selected scenario is highlighted. ** Scenario Description:* Information about the selected scenario, particularly historical background.
** Start:* Press the start button to begin the campaign from the selected scenario. ** Cancel:* Click this button to return to the campaign selection menu.
