revamp module init: no more atexit and "premain" init => no longer need
to call any wstartup init function. winit section names now use group
numbers instead of letters.
delay_load -> wdll_delay_load
dll_ver -> wdll_ver
add aken build environment
cleanup wsock.cpp, have it import its functions properly
wsdl: defend against GameSetup calling SDL_Quit twice.
This was SVN commit r5108.
add update mechanism (needed to safely handle counter rollover) and
lock-free synchronization.
refactor:
. Counters now have Activate/Shutdown interface rather than throwing
exceptions from the ctor.
. whrt is responsible for caching frequency/resolution etc.
. fix counterBits handling
This was SVN commit r5105.
instead of std::map, use a linked list of static LibErrorAssociation
instances. (also simplifies the process of registering error
codes/descriptions)

started
This was SVN commit r5104.

anyhow)
main: move early init to GameSetup!EarlyInit (fixes atlas problem with
timer)
This was SVN commit r5101.
cpu: accessor functions ensure what they return is valid. no longer
needs to call wtime_reset_impl (ugh). uses ModuleInitState.
ia32: add APIC ID accessor and prevent redundant init
This was SVN commit r5093.
lib: move IsSimilarMagnitude and downcasters here from single modules
where they're used

This was SVN commit r5090.
. update moduleInit mechanism and move it out of lib.cpp. now has a
thread-safe reference count and allows repeated init/shutdown (required
for self-tests)
. vfs now depends on h_mgr; h_mgr need therefore no longer explicitly be
shutdown (e.g. in self-tests)
. acpi: minor fixes
. cpu: AtomicAdd and CAS now take volatile variable (safer)
. mahaf: unload driver on shutdown (did this for DriverVerifier, but
it's 'cleaner' in general)
. wdbg_sym

implement them via trampoline instead
This was SVN commit r5086.

wutil: export LibError_from_GLE
This was SVN commit r5084.
- deleted most old libraries/headers in codepit to avoid confusion (they
are now in SVN anyway). updated required-libraries-linux.txt accordingly
- moved rand() into separate file, out of lib.cpp
- removed CGUIScrollBarStyle.cpp to avoid empty-file warning
- wxwidgets.h: remove redundant #pragma lib and include wxw PCH
- move openal-specific stuff to external_libraries/openal.h
- cpu, bsd: macosx is-a bsd, so only test OS_BSD
This was SVN commit r5082.
# The engine now builds and runs on Mac OS X.
Most changes were localized to the sysdep/ folder and the build system.
This
is what porting should be like! Hopefully nothing breaks on the other
platforms though ;-)
This was SVN commit r5081.
config, compiler: remove reliance on HAVE_C99; mention it's only for
pure C mode; make a few of the HAVE_ macro defs more clear
This was SVN commit r5076.
cpu: cache CPU info to prevent calling freq measurement code several
times
config: mention e.g. fopen_s instead of only the secure string functions
ia32: exception-safe scheduler setting; no longer use absolute max
priority (risky, could hang machine if loop contains a bug)
wtime: add note on TSC safety, slight improvements
timer: try and prevent timer from returning the same value
This was SVN commit r5075.
wdbg: ignore exceptions generated during normal OutputDebugString
operation. (unclear why we are now getting them all of the sudden -
shouldn't happen!)
JS: fix strings identifying JS functions (some were inadvertently
renamed according to capitalized C++ names)
GameLoop: add code to import Atlas_ReportError
Register: fix include guard name and thus unbreak Atlas
This was SVN commit r5062.
improve CPU brand string detection
wposix: no more ONCE during init (not thread-safe). also remove
redundant round_up
fold string_s into secure_crt
vfs: small fixes+commenting improvements while calling VFS back into
memory
This was SVN commit r5054.
. timer, config: fix definition of ALLOW_RDTSC
. add movsx_be64 (for whirlpool), revise implementation, move to
byte_order, add test
. MAX -> std::max, remove those macros
. add timestamp to system_info as requested by philip
This was SVN commit r5050.
win_internal -> win.h (pulls in <windows.h>, with fixes afterwards)
remove empty waio_internal and wsysdep
Move source/sound license notice into source/sound/license.txt
This was SVN commit r5044.
png.h, wxwidgets.h: automatically link against lib files
main: document and avoid potential memory leak with args
AtlasUI/ErrorReporter: move crashlog_sender.cpp here as per Philip's
suggestion. currently disabled via #if 0
stdafx: add missing header apparently required by trigger.h
This was SVN commit r5034.
. major compat fixes for interoperation with wxw.
. add crashlog_sender (modified version of debgrpt wxw sample). compiles
but untested, will be changed heavily
further improvements:
. wposix no longer declares CRT functions. instead, use CRT headers..
but don't allow their (incorrect/non-POSIX) declarations to propagate to
users.
. split up win.cpp into wstartup, wutil, winit
. extern "C" -> EXTERN_C
. move sdl.* to lib/external_libraries and add png.h+zlib.h (fixes for
and include of the library)
This was SVN commit r5028.
. the massive renaming undertaking: camelCase functions -> PascalCase.
. add some cppdoc.
. minor additional renaming improvements: e.g. GetIsClosed -> IsClosed
. in entity code, replace constructs like "pvec = new vector; return
pvec; use *pvec; delete pvec" with a simple stack variable passed as
output parameter (avoid unnecessary dynamic allocs)
. timer: simpler handling of raw ticks vs normal timer (less #if)
This was SVN commit r5017.
fpclassify fix
EntityManager: rename getExtant -> GetExtantAsHandles, fix its
implementation+call site to avoid dynamic alloc/auto ptr, rename extant
-> IsExtant
vsnprintf2 -> sys_vsnprintf. remove printf.h (function is declared in
sysdep header)
use SUS/posix-ish strcasecmp instead of defining that to the
windows-only stricmp
add cppdoc for ia32/cpu
This was SVN commit r5011.
further cleanup to sysdep.h: avoid pulling in win and ia32; split header
up into stl, compiler, and the actual sys_* API. (all but the latter are
in PCH).
timer: also avoid dragging in ia32
win: move snprintf fix to posix.h
cpu: simplify reasoning about cores, now given as logicalPerCore (not
package)
vfs_optimizer: fix if archive building is partially disabled
This was SVN commit r5008.
all cpu-related stuff is now defined in cpu.h (with cpu_ prefix and
fully encapsulated). fix quite brittle core/HT unit/package detection.
implement mkdir on VC8, where it is deprecated
add strdup on MacOSX
move ia32 code into separate subdir. functions implemented in asm are
called ia32_asm_*.
add some unix versions of sysdep functions (cannot test them)
timer: fix for amd64 linux
This was SVN commit r4995.
- Quick change of _mkdir into mkdir (really, this should be done with a
library function, which Jan is working on).
- Moved CJSComplex::GetScript() implementation into its .h file from its
.inl file to avoid some link errors in release build due to inlining.
This was SVN commit r4994.
Disabled CONFIG_USE_MMGR by default, since it seems unnecessary and it
makes debug builds slow (extremely slow under Valgrind) due to symbol
lookups when allocating memory.
Fixed minor warnings and errors.
This was SVN commit r4927.
Added UnitAnimation class, to act as the interface between the entity
and actor. (Currently doesn't work very well, but it does make
animations loop smoothly and sometimes kind of makes them stay
synchronised.)
Fixed corpse animation - it now plays the final frame of the death
animation before turning static.
Fixed update/interpolate timings.
Added JS function saveProfileData.
Updated ffmpeg library.
This was SVN commit r4880.
CStr: Indented comments more consistently. Made some parameters
pass-by-reference, made some others not. Removed some useless methods -
Length (use length or empty), GetSubstring (use substr), LCase/UCase
(use LowerCase/UpperCase). Removed operator[] bounds-checking because
VS2005 does that anyway.
Maybe fixed noncopyable warnings on VS2003.
This was SVN commit r4828.
sorry, update-workspaces + rebuild is necessary (moved boost/utility
into PCH)
- ps/ : committed additional documentation on behalf of Joe.
- lib/ : HAVE_C99 - replace with specific e.g. HAVE_NPRINTF; intended to
help with MacOSX compat (by no longer requiring us to lie about
STDC_VERSION)
- NO_COPY_CTOR -> boost::noncopyable
This was SVN commit r4825.
dll_ver: Fixed invalid free when running with OpenGL 1.1 drivers on
Vista.
GameSetup: Fixed spaces between sentences in error message.
This was SVN commit r4820.
Encryption: Deleted, just in case anyone was ever tempted to use it.
debug_warn: Removed redundant quotes around message.
oglCheck: Added error number to displayed messages, to help when
debugging errors.
Simulation: Fixed syntax confusion.
Entity: Preserve unit ID across entity-template changes (e.g. upgrades).
Atlas: Made some floating-point code less dodgy. Support number keys to
change player while placing units.
This was SVN commit r4814.
Forgot that you can't initialise std::exception with a message.
Fixed invalid goto jumping over declarations that aren't POD types with
no initialiser.
This was SVN commit r4793.
.. as mentioned in
http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=10719&hl=
thanks to matei and philip!
bonus: refs #164
tried to alleviate that by moving the OS error bit to the very end,
which usually means it's beyond the end of the little window unless
you're looking for it. does that help?
i'll venture that the OS error *might* be useful in rare cases and it
wouldn't be bad to have in there.
This was SVN commit r4791.
Atlas: Added simulation play/pause/reset controls; automatically plays
while recording cinematics.
FFmpeg: Fixed broken output files.
MapReader: Fixed entity loading.
ObjectHandlers: Made unit preview more robust when the preview unit gets
destroyed.
Various: Replaced manual matrix construction with SetYRotation call.
Turned some more CStr8 back into CStr.
h_mgr: Optimisation - don't calculate slow debug-output strings if
they're never going to be seen (since it takes a few hundred
milliseconds).
TerrainRenderer: Made more tolerant of accidental negative times.
Entity: Fixed m_refd being out of date when deleteAll is called. Fixed
problems when doing an initializeAll...deleteAll...initializeAll
sequence.
SCN: Removed non-useful AoE3Ed code that never did anything.
SVNLog: Made output more valid and made titles more descriptive, so it
works properly in FF's live bookmarks.
This was SVN commit r4779.
. add note to HAVE_C99 as per last meeting.
. moved a few extern declarations to header (required for some code
analysis tools)
. tiny warning fix in SoundGroup
This was SVN commit r4772.
thesis pointed out more dependencies that had to be stomped on.
0ad-specific apphooks are now in pyrogenesis.
added function AH_IS_DEFINED (useful for ogl_tex, which now has its own
default version of a hook)
This was SVN commit r4765.
- Made some classes not be singletons, since there's no reason why they
should be.
- Made them non-global too (because globals have unclear lifetimes, and
make it harder to test things, etc). They're now owned by CGameView and
CWorld, and mostly accessed via g_Game or arguments (vaguely trying to
avoid the graphics code calling into the game code).
- Moved CGameView implementation into pimpl, so the header file isn't
so heavy.
- Changed a few pointers into references, to indicate that they're
never NULL.
This was SVN commit r4756.
restrict: Changed documentation to note that it can be used on member
functions to restrict 'this', since that seems to work in GCC and MSVC
(though undocumented in the latter). Removed ICC-specific keyword
spelling because it accepts the GCC/MSVC spellings too.
This was SVN commit r4754.
these are required by thesis and improve 0ad code.
- sysdep/win init/shutdown mechanism is now better documented and
survives clever vc8 optimization
- moved some extern declarations from win_internal into separate headers
main: remove debug_filter_add("LOADER") - was for my debugging
convenience
This was SVN commit r4752.
- added "--icc" Premake flag, to disable PCH and set different warning
flags
- added required headers
- changed debug_warn to not generate constant-expression-in-conditional
warnings
- changed FAM popup-warning into a log message, so it's not so
irritating
- Atlas: pass around wxGLCanvas instead of wxGLContext, because the
context is sometimes just NULL
This was SVN commit r4733.
- add newly added dirs to premake.lua
- self_test is in lowlevel project and thus doesn't have cxxtest include
path set => must not include self_test.h
- wposix: make each _CRTIMP declaration extern "C" (can't rely on
definition of _CRTIMP, nor that the header is wrapped in extern "C" {})
This was SVN commit r4730.
- remove headers always included from PCH
- nommgr.h is only included ifdef REDEFINED_NEW (allows leaving out the
mmgr stuff)
- in lib/*.cpp, moved the corresponding include file to right behind the
PCH (catches headers that aren't compilable by themselves)
- byte_order no longer depends on SDL
- add debug_level (another means of filtering debug output; needed for
thesis)
- split posix stuff up into subdirs (lib/posix and sysdep/win/wposix).
makes including only some of the modules (e.g. sockets, time) much
easier.
This was SVN commit r4728.
* CMeshManager: Changed to check for .pmd and .dae files and convert
and cache as appropriate.
* CModelDef: Fixed misinterpreted doc comments in.
* lib:
* Fixed init/shutdown sequences to support multiple VFS-using tests
correctly.
* Fixed most reported memory leaks from the new leak-reporting test
system.
* Fixed error when trying to dump debug data about fonts after
unloading them.
* Added sphere dae/pmd data for tests.
* Added output buffering to DAE->PMD converter.
* Added precompiled COLLADA converter DLLs.
* Removed old redundant conversion script.
This was SVN commit r4709.
* Fixed some bugs with incorrect macro usage (SDL_BYTE_ORDER vs
SDL_BYTEORDER, {MSC,GCC}_VER vs {MSC,GCC}_VERSION, OS_WIN/OS_UNIX in
projects where they're not defined).
* Removed some redundant declarations of g_Console.
* Removed some unnecessary semicolons.
* Removed some unused variables.
* Added throw specification to operator new.
This was SVN commit r4698.
* Skinning is done in a way that works when there's more than one bone
influencing a vertex.
* PMDs now store vertexes in world-space instead of bind-space. (The
loader converts the old-version PMDs so they still work.)
* Moved SkinPoint, SkinNormal into CModelDef so it could use them when
loading the old PMDs.
* Made the FastNormals approach non-optional, so the inverse-transpose
bone matrices could be removed. Changed the explanation of why it's a
valid approach.
* Quaternion: Made GetInverse assume that the quaternions have unit
length (which they do when they're representing 3D rotations).
* lib: Added support for DDS files that aren't a multiple of 4x4 (most
useful for 1x1, 2x2, etc that are still powers of two).
* Actor Viewer: Added white terrain texture to the minimal test mod, so
shadows are visible. Changed default so walk/run animations don't move
the unit along the ground.
* Removed some redundant repetition in doc comments.
* Removed some unnecessary #includes.
This was SVN commit r4696.
* Added CmdLineArgs, which does the parsing then lets various pieces of
code check for whatever arguments they want.
* Made Atlas exit out of main() cleanly, instead of calling exit()
itself.
* Disabled the global exception-catching in unit tests, via a
entry_noSEH, so it doesn't make debugging harder.
* Added nice printing of CStr in unit test failure messages, and added
comparison of vector vs constant array.
This was SVN commit r4688.
another crack at #159; no longer use SYS_DIR_SEP. reason is that the
self-test uses windows AND unix paths, so both must always work on all
platforms.
This was SVN commit r4646.
is defined (defined by the premake scripts)
FileConverter.cpp: Fix wxString-through-valist (for no better reason
than being
annoyed by the warnings...)
This was SVN commit r4643.
graphics: basic terrain passibility
atlas: lots of changes to make atlas compile under linux
unix/X: more clipboard support - copy from 0AD to other programs
unix/debug: use sys_get_executable_name instead of hard-coded paths
... and lots of other misc. changes
This was SVN commit r4640.
fixes#159fixes#160
lib: add moduleInit helpers (centralizes a bit of code and saves typing;
sorry for the recompile)
path_util: allow '\\' as separator (see rationale there)
lockfree.cpp: use moduleInit, no longer rely on type/value of
pthread_key_t (which was a hack)
This was SVN commit r4635.
* vsnprintf2: Made compatible between GCC and MSVC - it now always
null-terminates the buffer, and returns -1 on overflow. Fixes#158.
Added tests.
* MeshManager: Use shared_ptr.expired() instead of checking for
bad_weak_ptr exception.
* Xeromyces: Added tests for GetXMBPath, because it does unusual things
in sscanf which MSVC's /analyze complains about.
* ConfigDB, ScriptGlue: Replaced some asserts with return-on-failure,
to avoid invalid array accesses when continuing after the assert (as
complained about by /analyze).
* CStr: Removed "using namespace std". Added tests for handling of
invalid UTF-8.
This was SVN commit r4625.
fixes#125
I now have Win64, so this problem can be reproduced :D
windows is 'helpful' and transparently redirects accesses to
$winsysdir/drivers. grr. disable that on win64 to solve this problem.
thanks for the report!
This was SVN commit r4590.
fixes#157
bitten again by the complex tree_shutdown code. now correctly pull rug
(memory) out from under the tree *after* it has emptied itself.
also add an 'am i initialized' indicator to VFS to allow multiple init
and also provide means of squelching the root-dir-set-multiple times
thing
This was SVN commit r4588.
which is just "class C { void C::f(); }" code, which other compilers
seem to have ignored.
Also removed HAVE_PCH from GCC because our build system doesn't have
PCH. Added necessary headers to make it compile again.
This was SVN commit r4437.
Elsewhere:
Disabled stack-trace test because it gives me assertion failures.
Fixed some uses of snprintf (which doesn't always add a \0 to the end of
the string), then got bored so there are still lots of broken ones.
Probably should replace snprintf with something more like snprintf_s
(but non-fatal) or something.
Made CLogger output valid HTML (except for the potentially dodgy
doctype). Removed its memory-logger, since we never use it and MICROLOG
can be used instead for quick execution-tracing.
Added tests to make sure CLogger handles long strings properly (which it
didn't). Made CLogger not a singleton, so it can be tested sensibly.
This was SVN commit r4424.
ObjectManager: Removed ObjectTypes because it hasn't been used for
years.
Atlas: Fixed leak when saving with Xerces. Changed range of water
shininess slider.
Actor Editor: Relabelled "Freq" to "Ratio". Made modal dialogs use the
correct parent.
This was SVN commit r4376.
- error codes now accessed as ERR::NO_MEM, INFO::OK etc.
- no more X-macros => the above are now recognized by visual assist
- error codes are defined by the module originating them (lib_errors has
some generic ones)
=> no full rebuild when adding some
- error descriptions are now in C++ files => can be changed without full
rebuild
added AT_STARTUP in lib.h.
This was SVN commit r4374.
note: previous fix (clamp to 0 in screen_to_client) causes spurious
messages if mouse moves outside of the window (which is bad). "client"
coords are allowed to be negative, but "idealized client coords" (which
are defended by assert >= 0 or is_in_window) aren't.
fixes#146
This was SVN commit r4324.
- Removed a debug assertion that could occur in windowed mode if you
moved your mouse above or to the left of the window (client x and y >=
0); instead, negative client coordinates are now clipped to 0. (The
coordinates can't actually stay negative because we are casting them to
uints, so that would give very large values.)
This was SVN commit r4323.
hopefully found last confusion between screen/client coords (now prefix
the former with screen_*)
SDL passes around client coords in message as Uint16, int in API calls,
Window gives/takes screen space POINT (LONG x,y)
This was SVN commit r4311.
This avoids stuff like
/usr/include/c++/4.0.0/cmath:85: error: template with C linkage
/usr/include/c++/4.0.0/cmath: In function 'float std::abs(float)':
/usr/include/c++/4.0.0/cmath:92: error: declaration of C function 'float
std::abs(float)' conflicts with
/usr/include/c++/4.0.0/cmath:88: error: previous declaration 'double
std::abs(double)' here
This was SVN commit r4291.
Changed player-id code a bit so the entity and actor and unit should
stay in sync more often. (The entity/actor/unit mixing still looks a bit
dodgy and unreliable, though.)
Simplified console help code.
Allowed init/shutdown to be done with the simulation/world/etc parts
disabled (so the actor viewer can load faster).
This was SVN commit r4289.
Atlas: Added ActorViewer. Moved GL canvas into separate class for shared
use. Disabled message-handling callback while blocked on the game, and
stopped creating dialog boxes inside the game thread in order to avoid
deadlocks (hopefully). Support multiple Views (for independent sets of
camera/update/render code). Recalculate territory boundaries when
necessary. Changed default list of animations to match those currently
used by actors.
# Tidied up more code.
Moved some more #includes out of .h files, to minimise unnecessary
compilation.
MathUtil: Deleted unused/unuseful macros (M_PI (use PI instead), M_PI_2
(use PI/2), MAX3, ABS (use abs)).
ObjectManager: Removed some ScEd-specific things.
Unit: Moved creation out of UnitManager, so units can be created without
adding to the manager. Changed CStr8 to the more conventional CStr.
app_hooks: Removed warning for setting multiple times.
win: Restored SEH catcher.
GameSetup, GameView: Removed RenderNoCull, because it doesn't seem to do
what it says it does ("force renderer to load everything") since we're
loading-on-demand most stuff and it doesn't seem especially useful since
we'd prefer to minimise loading times (but feel free to correct me if
I'm wrong). (And because it crashes when things need to be initialised
in a different order, so it's easier to remove than to understand and
fix it.)
PatchRData, Renderer: Work sensibly when there's no game (hence no LOS
manager, water, etc).
LOSManager: Use entity position instead of actor position when possible.
TerritoryManager: Allow delayed recalculations (so Atlas can issue lots
of move+recalculate commands per frame).
Cinematic: Non-pointer wxTimer, so it doesn't leak and doesn't have to
be deleted manually.
This was SVN commit r4261.
.. by removing support for WAV. see rationale in source; in short, we
don't need it and it's not worth the minimal trouble of adding freealut
dependency.
entityhandles: remove old comment
This was SVN commit r4247.
Premake: Changed to use PCH when compiling tests.
CxxTest: Got rid of /Wp64 warnings. Changed TS_ASSERT_STR_EQUALS to
print both strings on failure.
win_internal: Added the bits that CxxTest::Win32Gui needs (because
Win32Gui is now compiled with PCH and uses our sysdep headers).
Disabled test_cache_policies, because it took long enough for me to read
its name.
This was SVN commit r4237.
LightEnv - has byte order marks
Texture - conv from int to GLint wasn't allowed
JSConversion - to use isfinite you need the std:: namespace
(this is temporary... atm I don't know why you can't call isfinite)
ScriptableComplex - when implementing methods it did not like default
values (they were removed from the cpp file)
timer.h - simple change
This was SVN commit r4231.
tricky issue with isfinite: <cmath> also stomps on that (C99) macro,
instead of only C89 libc. fix: include math.h instead. rationale is
documented.
This was SVN commit r4224.
- u_anim_name disambiguation
- fix implementation of finite (use our fpclassify instead of compiler's
routine)
- ä -> ae
- workaround for MAP_ANONYMOUS
- fix GLint in ogl.cpp
- add include for SIZE_MAX in string_s
- avoid PIC clobbered error and speed up rdtsc a bit
- add include for stat
This was SVN commit r4170.
entity.cpp: fix indenting (was using space instead of tab)
replace all instance of & operator=( with NO_COPY_CTOR
trace: fix bug reported by michael: if trace file is huge, indices would
keep on being recorded but data was cut off after a certain limit,
leading to invalid pointers (into garbage data)
This was SVN commit r4158.
replaced all (*) CStr / CStrW by-value params with const reference. hoo
boy.
please always perform this optimization (actually standard idiom) when
writing the code - it takes little work, tells the next guy that the
string won't be modified, and makes a large performance difference.
(* where possible.. a few require other changes and will follow later)
This was SVN commit r4151.
* ScriptableComplex.h: big bang (several hundred ms) for little buck:
made all CStrW params const CStrW& instead. this should *always* be done
as a matter of principle, unless the string actually needs to be
modified (in which case compiler will tell you)
* adts: slight improvement to hash table perf: change expansion
threshold to 50% full, and implement quadratic probing (as suggested by
matei)
This was SVN commit r4122.
Bars and rank icons now scale with zoom level. I've left in the old
render functions for now, but they can be removed later.
This was SVN commit r4120.
entitymanager: remove duplication, move refcnt && !destroyed check into
helper function in preparation for caching result of that calculation
scriptglue: improved timer calibration
This was SVN commit r4113.
big thanks to philip for seeing the problem! :D
cause: not popping FPU stack. didn't happen on my athlonXP presumably
due to different FPU usage (possibly in drivers): pushing 8 values could
clear the stack and mask overflow. the cause was not due to compiler
(and FLD/FSTP param passing) because Philip uses VC2005 as well, but saw
the crash (on P4 CPU)
fixes#130
This was SVN commit r4072.
* debug_write_crashlog and debug_dump_stack are now responsible for
detecting reentrancy (reported via new ERR_REENTERED error code).
* export debug_error_message_build to allow unit test of stack dumper
* split+clean up debug_display_error to allow this.
* error_description_r now returns buf for convenience
* ia32: fix typo causing disassembly to fail
* wdbg_sym: bugfix causing incorrect debug_walk_stack return value.
prevent recursive locking, provide locked version of
debug_resolve_symbol. add skip_this_frame for convenience.
refs #130
This was SVN commit r4067.
ia32: fix overly zealous error return in ia32_get_call_target
sysdep: more correct definition of fpclassify() (takes into account
argument size)
This was SVN commit r4055.
remove old instrumentation, fix warnings, add measured timing results
Loader: bugfix: no more memory leak whenever callback returns a warning
code. this was a loophole in the callback return value docs.
This was SVN commit r4048.
split ia32_asm code up into memcpy, color
premake: add (windows-only so far) support for NASM include paths -
required when using %include. see rationale in vs.c
refs #124
This was SVN commit r4039.
add translate_free (avoids mem leak in translate API)
debug: when skipping errors but an unexpected one is raised, trigger a
warning.

refs #124
This was SVN commit r4020.
* app_hooks: add display_error; can be used by atlas to override our
dialog box
* lots of small fixes (mostly pertaining to headers)
* debug: clean up display_error, protect from reentrancy, fix a few edge
cases (e.g. error message from dtor -> exit pressed -> suppress all
subsequent errors)
* delay_load: add warning: NLSO ctors are unreliable since we're
compiling into static lib
This was SVN commit r4009.

lib: infinite loop in log2
lockfree: incorrect params
This was SVN commit r3979.
* zip.h removed old test symbols
* path_util fixed bug in mixed-separating-slash handling
* renamed ERR_OK to INFO_OK; allows searching for "return ERR_" to yield
all actual errors (instead of having to filter out ERR_OK)
This was SVN commit r3945.
* now splits everything up into independent static libraries.
* fixed a great deal of incorrect #include statements. all headers must
now be specified with their full path relative to source. exception: if
file being included and including file are in the same directory, no
path needed.
use <> when relying on the build system's include path (e.g. for system
headers and external libraries, e.g. boost), otherwise "".
* temporarily renamed maths/Vector2D to Vector2D_Maths to avoid
conflict. these should be merged.
* hacked around VC linker stupidness when building static libs; texture
codecs must now be registered manually.
This was SVN commit r3931.

path_util:
- path_append: bugfix (no more extraneous /); add support for appending
slash
- path_replace: bugfix (no more warnings for expected error)
- add path_last_component, path_foreach_component
- move some defs to the header that belong there from vfs.h/path.h
file: add dir_create; move PosixFile definition here and provide
accessor for fileio
vfs: no longer automatically append slash; instead, make sure caller
does
vfs_mount:

creating real dirs
vfs_tree:
- refactor TDir::add into find, add, find_and_add

TextureManager: remove no longer needed SupportedTextureFormats
GameSetup, Xeromyces: setup XMB location to data/cache/mods/official/xmb
Util: HardcodedErrorString now uses error_description_r
VFSUtil, i18n: fixes for dir slash issue
Closes#79, #80
This was SVN commit r3874.
file_cache: avoid caching 0-length files (prevents div by 0)
adts: bit more defensiveness against size=0
trace: now use "dividers" in the trace file instead of relying on
monotony property of the get_time source. this avoids incorrectly
splitting the trace into runs when time is actually not monotonous
(which would cause lots of warnings), e.g. due to debugger.
in the process, changed interface to return (most-recent first) runs,
instead of only the raw unsorted entries.
This was SVN commit r3832.
- file: make DirIterator opaque struct with type field, as with
File/FileIo in recent commit. unifies all dir enum interfaces.
- add dir open/nextent/close functions to FileProvider_VTbl
- allocators: change signature of SingleAllocator to that of the
templated type (avoids need for cast)
(affects archive, compression, zip)
- file_util: move dirent filter logic here so it can be used by file.cpp
also, not only vfs.
This was SVN commit r3822.
also remove some stupid "returns ERR_OK or negative error code"
comments, which is now guaranteed by LibError return type anyway.
This was SVN commit r3807.
terrain: fix unused a90 etc. warnings by commenting them out
renamed ERR_TEX_CODEC_CANNOT_HANDLE to INFO_.. (to prevent the kind of
mistake that philip just fixed)
This was SVN commit r3805.
tex: Reverted recent WARN_RETURN(ERR_TEX_CODEC_CANNOT_HANDLE) changes,
since (I think) it shouldn't warn about that being returned (because it
intentionally happens frequently).
XMLWriter: Trivial inconsequential optimisations (avoiding temporary
strings).
This was SVN commit r3801.
- validators now WARN_RETURN as well (rationale documented in
lib_errors.h)
- got rid of some CHECK_ERR (try to avoid multiple errors for the same
underlying problem)
- H_DEREF now first checks if handle is invalid already and returns that
if so; avoids the need for a RETURN_ERR before it.
This was SVN commit r3799.
- replace all hardcoded strrchr functions (used to get extension / file
name only) with path helper functions (found a few bugs in the process)
- split VFS-independent path helper functions into lib/path_util (allows
including by other files without pulling in entire VFS)
- renamed pp_* functions path_package_*
- split remaining path helper functions into lib/res/file/path
- vfs: split should-reload logic out of vfs_reload_changed_files
- lib: add comments to rand/xrand
This was SVN commit r3796.
- move AllocatorChecker to allocators.h since usefulness is not limited
to CacheAllocator
- file: add note on casting File.opaque
- vfs_redirector: was missing u32 (fails on VC8)
- zip: fix u32_from_larger (was using incorrect type)
This was SVN commit r3786.
Used new library include paths.
Renamed ia32.asm to ia32_asm.asm, so we don't need Premake modifications
to avoid object-file conflicts with ia32.cpp.
This was SVN commit r3784.
1) unify open/io interfaces: no longer distinguish between FileIo /
AFileIo. instead, one FileIo struct is always used; the
provider-specific data is embedded within it. this avoids the need for a
"base class", which is hard to access (f.fc.flags is ugly)
2) rename x_* redirector to xfile_* and move out of vfs_mount into
separate file
3) xfile is now implemented via "virtual functions" (avoids a lot of
boilerplate code)
4) xfile was too closely tied to vfs_mount (used internal fields);
fixed.
remaining lib/res files: made all flag parameters uint (not int) for
consistency
This was SVN commit r3776.
- color: the sse codepath is now detected and activated from within
color.cpp, which avoids making ia32 dependent on the color header. it's
called from gamesetup!InitRenderer.
- move VFSUtil::EnumDirEnts to vfs.cpp!vfs_dir_enum - allows it to be
used from within lib/ without dependency on ps (annoying for other
projects)
This was SVN commit r3764.
Fixed includes to header files that were renamed, added defines for
ia32_fminf and ia32_fmaxf in sysdep.h, and added declarations for the
same in ia32.h
This was SVN commit r3752.
snd_mgr: replace al_check("funcname") with AL_CHECK macro; allow
disabling WIN_LOADLIBRARY_HACK.
wcpu: move sys_on_each_cpu here from wsysdep
split up wdetect into wgfx, wsnd, wdll_ver
This was SVN commit r3748.
- split up detect.cpp into snd, cpu, gfx (headers were already split)
- rename detect functions for more clarity (e.g. get_cur_vmode ->
gfx_get_video_mode)
- rename lib/res/sound/snd to snd_mgr to avoid conflict with
sysdep/snd.cpp
- waio: set errno in aio_rw (addresses bug #73)
This was SVN commit r3745.
adts: use SAFE_FREE
config: add CONFIG_FINAL; use it in
compression,vfs_optimizer,scriptablecomplex
lib: add discussion of unreachable code avoidance; revise UNREACHABLE
and add NODEFAULT
ogl_tex, tex_dds: remove some unnecessary UNREACHABLE
sysdep: move compiler-specific implementation of UNREACHABLE here.
use NODEFAULT in snd, wdbg, wposix, wsdl
This was SVN commit r3739.
* mapreader: increases progress bar update interval (was calling back
10x for 1%, which is an excessive slowdown)
* lib_errors: add ERR_MEM_OVERWRITTEN
* mmgr: replace debug_assert(0) with more specific errors
This was SVN commit r3737.
FILE_CACHE_BLOCK flag used more safely (copied in afile_read)
add file_sector_size (set from sysdep code)
documented and organized FileFlags
moved publically visible file_buf* decls to file.h; add FileBufFlags
file_buf_get: moved to file_io and renamed because it is not a part of
the file_buf manager itself
FILE_BLOCK_SIZE no longer exposed to users - it's an implementation
detail. for alignment purposes, you should use file_sector_size (less
wasteful)
add page_aligned allocator (mmap)
write buffers now allocated via file_buf_alloc(FB_FROM_HEAP) (avoids
wasting cache space)
append trace runs into the trace file (-> better input data for archive
ordering)
document lib_errors.h
tex_load: add provision for file_flags, used by ogl_tex_load to prevent
caching file data
simulation, entitymanager: add perf measurements
This was SVN commit r3725.
* replace all "return ERR_*" with WARN_RETURN(ERR_*) - makes sure
function failures are noticed *at the cause*, not later
* LibError_from_* now take bool warn_if_failed param
* replace more debug_warns with dedicated error codes (allows localized
error reports and doesn't spam the EXE with strings)
This was SVN commit r3722.
and a fix for the auto-build: #define enums from EXT_framebuffer_object
* clip shadow bounds to frustum
* add CBrush, a class representing a convex object
This was SVN commit r3695.
* noframebufferobject configuration in system.cfg can be used to
disable EXT_fbo (in case drivers are flaky etc.)
* shadow texture size now honours the OpenGL maximum texture size as
reported
by the implementation
This was SVN commit r3693.
adts: whip together inefficient LRU cache manager (mostly for comparing
vs. Landlord)
file_cache: fix self-test (now correctly deals with small cache sizes)
file_stats: more stats for file cache
trace, vfs: bugfix: ignore writes recorded by the trace
This was SVN commit r3684.
adts: slight improvements
allocators: change POOL_VARIABLE_ALLOCS to -1 for safety; fix invalid
assumptions of it being 0
lib: more expressive param names
file: add file_get_random_name for randomized trace generation; allow
file_cache.h to declare externally visible file_buf_alloc API
file_cache: zero-length file bugfix; also add several flags to the API
routines allowing statistics gathering to be disabled (avoids distorting
stats due to e.g. trace_entry_causes_io cache simulation)
file_stats: add archive builder info; separate IO timing and seek
accounting (-> correct results)
trace: add random generation capability
vfs: made responsible for cache hit/miss accounting (fixes cache miss
rate display)
This was SVN commit r3681.
file: change block size to 32kb (=> yields highest throughput)
archive, file_io: add additional block cache forwarding path when
reading uncompressed data from archive (avoids repetitive IOs)
file_io, file_stats: fix inaccurate and incorrect IO throughput
calculation
file_stats: refactor some calculations to avoid division by 0
This was SVN commit r3665.
vfs_mount: only notify archive builder of files that are archivable

disable in final release for convenience
This was SVN commit r3651.
vfs: remove second call to tree_init (now done by vfs_mount)
vfs_tree: fix memory leak due to not destroying root node. commented and
armor-plated things while at it.
This was SVN commit r3647.
- lib, sysdep.h: move DIR_SEP to sysdep.h
- archive, compression: minor touchups
- zip: large refactor: all accesses to little-endian structs are now
done by helper functions (fixes bug: wasn't endian swapping ECDR). also
detect unfinished zip files (for VFS mount to ignore)
- tex_dds: fix comment
This was SVN commit r3634.
file_cache: add warning to cache_allocator to catch incorrect usage /
bugs
vfs_optimizer.cpp: tweak miniarchive threshold (currently have config
files in there; don't want those to trigger rebuild every time)
zip: clarification
tex_dds: we now bother checking the DDPIXELFORMAT mask bits because
uncompressed DDS files may be stored in any pixel component order, but
we require RGB for efficiency.
wsdl: fix failure to update; was constantly queuing events if mouse was
out of window
This was SVN commit r3627.
vfs: add VFS_MOUNT_ARCHIVABLE flag; allow archive builder to only
include files from mount points with this set.
VFSUtil: make EnumDirEnts more efficient while at it (uses PathPackage
and filename storage)
This was SVN commit r3618.
trace: split code out of vfs_optimizer (was getting too large)
vfs_mount: expose API to unmount all (needed to be able to delete
archives after building)
vfs_optimizer: safely handle empty connection/node lists;
refactored+documented
vfs_tree: eliminate 'file in root dir' warning (can happen easily
enough)
rest: fixes/minor tweaks
This was SVN commit r3610.
- file_cache: add checker for allocations (catches bugs in debug mode);
fix bug that freed buffers even thought they were on extant list.
- vfs_mount: bugfix: was passing P_path to vfs_opt_notify when it should
be V_path
- vfs_optimizer: big refactor; fix bugs in TourBuilder causing some
files to be omitted from archive (thus forcing unnecessary archive
rebuild - because #files not in archive was too big)
This was SVN commit r3602.
- adts: Cache.remove_least_valuable was returning false prematurely even
though there were still some items pending eviction; that meant they
remained in cache
- file_cache: wasn't clearing exact_buf_oracle on reset. also made
make_read_only pass correct exact_buf rather than just rounding down.
This was SVN commit r3589.
- compression: now use "fastest" compression mode and more memory unless
in FINAL build. this greatly speeds up archive generation at expense of
1.5% size increase (fine during development). done because profiling
shows ZLib accounts for 78% of CPU; practically nothing else shows up,
which shows effectiveness of compressing in parallel with reading from
disk.
- file_cache: documented; fixed several potential issues with exact_buf
when invalidating files.
This was SVN commit r3586.
everything else: bugfix: buffers added to extant list via
file_buf_retrieve (i.e. moved from cache to extant list) didn't have
their long_lived flag carried over; this caused a "not freed
immediately" warning.
This was SVN commit r3580.
- allocators.cpp: fix: make sure all pool fields are reset in
pool_free_all; correct matrix self-test
- lib: fix self-test
- lib_error: give "informational" return codes values > 100 (allows
multiplexing with percent indicator)

archive (fixes caching problem); add support for progressive archive
creation
- file: allow pp_set_dir's path to end in slash (simplifies other code);
add file_exists
- file_cache: add stats+sanity checks to allocator; improve ExtantBufMgr
find(); add ExactBufOracle to translate padded address returned by Cache
to what was actually allocated; relax infinite-loop check; fix
file_cache_reset
- file_io: refactor callback logic so it can be used by vfs (needed for
vfs_load)
- vfs: vfs_load now supports calling back (required for archive builder)
- vfs_mount: optimize path caching in afile_cb: due to atom_fn system,
string compare can be done via pointer compare
- vfs_optimizer: support auto-build of archive (progressive); improve
should-build-archive check (WIP)
- vfs_path: add util functions (also used in screenshot code)
- vfs_tree: simplify pathname storage
- wposix: mmap bugfix
- main: call progressive archive builder; skip reload when doing so
(documented)

minor improvements/documentation in archive+compression+file_cache+zip
main: remove dead ScEd code
This was SVN commit r3498.
lib: add u32_hi/lo

file_cache: add flush() call - used when simulating cache
vfs_optimizer: WIP, not yet functional: file gatherer, 50% of TSP tour
generator
This was SVN commit r3486.
NOTE: wchar_t should be defined as a built-in type; no more need to
define manually or change project settings.
adts: disambiguate iterator type; add operator- as required by VC8
std::equal() implementation
precompiled: squelch stupid warning (that informs us that array members
are now actually default-initialized as called for by C++)
file_cache: remove debug variable
This was SVN commit r3464.
allocators: allow pool_create at NLSO ctor time
lib: add rand() function based on libc rand and self-test. (this allows
easily returning a random number within a range, and avoids a number of
pitfalls - the naive rand()%range approach is baaad)
precompiled: add self_test.h, so that self tests won't be accidentally
disabled by forgetting to include the header
file_cache: add self-test; fixed 2 bugs that exposed (was incorrectly
splitting large blocks and not setting class_size bit properly). fix
weird corner case in BlockMgr (attempting to free LRU block but it is
locked).
file_io, wdbg_sym: tiny fixes
This was SVN commit r3461.
archive: afile_read bugfix (wasn't returning byte count)
byte_order: add to_leXX, implement read_leXX in terms of that, add
write_leXX (and also big-endian versions)
compression: support 0 length buffers + minor fixes
file: no longer support passing fn_len (that didn't work anyway due to
DynHashTbl find(const char*) interface); add FILE_DONT_SET_FN
optimization that prevents cluttering name cache.
file_cache: add logic to verify load/free/load/free sequence; add
FILE_LONG_LIVED flag to specify exceptions (e.g. XMB files that don't
free their buffer immediately)
vfs_mount/vfs_tree: bugfix (was mixing up portable and VFS paths)
vfs_optimizer: small fixes; creating Zip files now works
vfs_tree: add PathName that stores pointer to path and name component
for efficiency + convenience
zip: bugfixes (wasn't endian safe; incorrect handling of cmethod; forgot
to initialize ZipArchive members)

alignment.
file_stats: add seek accounting (WIP)
vfs_optimizer: also record file_buf_free in the trace. initial
implementation of archive builder (WIP)
zip: lfh_fixup now more efficient (does not involve buffer manager -
instead it grabs LFH from temp blocks)
tex: plug FileIOBuf leak. avoid writing to tex.hm because that is a
read-only file_buf.
This was SVN commit r3428.
- made file_io_wait buffer non-const (less const_casting around -
buffers are really non-const. besides which, inadvertent use will be
caught via MMU)
- zip: disambiguate abs() param
This was SVN commit r3426.
- remove ScEd hacks and CFont et al macro rename
- fix accursed bug in VFS buffer management that was causing ReadFile to
fail without error (not allocating enough padding)
- vfs_tree: bugfix in tree_lookup
- waio: temporarily disable sector size determination (pending better
approach - need to determine if using DVD drive)
This was SVN commit r3421.
previous zip.* split up into archive, zip and compression. add O(1)
lookup via memento. add support for writing Zip archive. simplify IO by
having compression module allow queuing input buffers.
file: split up into file, file_Io, file_cache. add atom_fn that enables
string comparison via pointer compare. (stores all filenames/paths in
one place). add statistics gathering.
file_cache: landlord algorithm for caching files as well as LRU block
cache.
file_io: aio code that splits transfers into blocks revamped and made
into class.

- added some explicit #include statements where necessary
- moved enum LibError/ErrorReaction declarations
(gcc doesn't support forward enum declarations)
This was SVN commit r3267.
timer: greatly speed up TIMER_ACCRUE by having it gather raw ticks and
only converting those to wall-clock time at exit when displaying the
values. old codepath remains and can be restored via TIMER_USE_RAW_TICKS
This was SVN commit r3241.
- debug_warn_err now takes LibError
- lib_error.cpp: revise error code -> string (only support liberror
now); add function to set errno from LibError
- unifont, CFont: parameter made a simple wchar_t from const wchar_t&
- mmap now sets errno
- Loader and VfsUtil function now return LibError as well
- Profile.cpp, ProfileViewer.cpp: fix int/uint/size_t warnings
- Renderer.cpp: fix cannot-generate-assignment-operator warning
This was SVN commit r3235.
- add translators from errno and GetLastError to LibError
- clarified return values of callbacks (they must return
INFO_CB_CONTINUE to continue)
- this exposed a few bugs in error handling chains (returning incorrect
values); also reduced say-nothing instances of return -1.
- move CHECK_ERR etc. macros to lib_error
This was SVN commit r3229.
lib: add display_msgw which is a wrapper around the sys_display_msgw
impl and takes care of translating text
lib_errors: codes are now an enum (this will allow a special return type
and make documentation much more clear); codes are defined in the
header, not from lib.h
wsdl: resolve todo comment
This was SVN commit r3217.
- config: add CONFIG_TRACE
- display_error_impl->sys_display_error
- cleaned up sysdep; add sys_ prefix everywhere and document everything
- add to vfs_load dox
- cursor: sys_cursor_load -> sys_cursor_create. sysdep code is no longer
dependent on tex; instead of calling tex_load, the caller passes a BGRA
texture in.
memcpy: huge kick in the pants for accompanying paper; now even faster.
- on_each_cpu -> sys_on_each_cpu (removed manager function also)
- wsdl: explain PeekMessage CPU usage issue
This was SVN commit r3203.
Interact: Answered comment. Fixed calculation of map edge.
Renderer: Fixed unloading of water textures. Removed some redundant
state-setting in water renderer. Avoided potential problems with
floating point accuracy.
This was SVN commit r3182.
cursor: fix definition of ALLOW_SYS_CURSOR and use DDS instead of PNG
ogl_tex: add ogl_tex_transform_to for convenience
tex: fix issue with transform code (might not flip image if it was DDS)
win: decompress cursor texture if it was DDS
renderer: use DDS instead of PNG for alpha maps
This was SVN commit r3148.
this is good in general (less dependence on compiler) and is intended to
work around a bug andrew has been seeing. apparently VC generates
invalid code for the parameters + ASSERT, which causes infinite
recursion on the <location> validation.
This was SVN commit r3142.
sysdep: remove round; document several functions; use ia32.h header
instead of a hack that extern-declared sysdep functions that are
implemented as macro-redirection
wsdl: add SDL_EnableKeyRepeat stub; group related functions in header
together; no longer need OS_WIN wrapper around that
This was SVN commit r3115.
minimap, PatchRData, renderer: fix ELOSState comparison vs & and use
SAFE_DELETE
ia32: add rounding control constants (for FISTP)
premake: set /QIfist compiler setting which causes float->int casts to
go through FISTP instruction instead of _ftol2() (much faster, but
requires CPU state to have been set)
LOSManager.cpp: cache m_TilesPerSize; use MIN/MAX; use
CTerrain::CalcFromPosition; clean up GetUnitState a bit. now runs at
203ns, down from 222
This was SVN commit r3099.
ia32: removing misleading and outdated comment
Player: add "LOS token" - speeds up LosManager by caching a temp result
LOSMAnager: speed up by about 9%, more to come. combined 2 DWORDs into
one u16; further optimization pending. old code remains (via #ifdef
frankenstein)
This was SVN commit r3097.
networkInternal - remove E* error codes; rely on system <errno.h> header
wposix: add all SUSv3 error codes; value = that of CRT (where
available), otherwise the linux value
This was SVN commit r3087.
reinstate g_keys - realized that atlas mode cannot call SDL_GetKeyState
main: use g_app_minimized etc. to use up less CPU time when app isn't
active (makes debugging more bearable)
This was SVN commit r3070.
-- this fixes "cursor keys require ctrl" bug reported by jason
wdbg_sym: fix warning
wsdl: as above and also better SDL_ACTIVEEVENT handling
mmgr: 500µs -> 500s -> 500us :)
This was SVN commit r3065.
Add an "instancing" model renderer to improve rendering of
non-transparent,
unanimated models. This renderer is used when the vertexshader path is
rendering path is used.
This was SVN commit r3052.
wdbg_sym: make sure symbol info is initialized even if *resolve() fails;
also fix warnings
renderer: make sure texture array is initialized
This was SVN commit r3049.
debug: add debug_is_code_ptr and debug_is_stack_ptr
config: add CONFIG_OMIT_FP (needed for ia32_stackwalk).
h_mgr: hyperparanoid overrun detection straightjacket for key2idx - now
safe to use at any time and any unexpected changes cause access
violation.
ia32: add ia32_get_call_target, which disassembles backwards and checks
for a valid CALL instruction + its target
wdbg_sym: add win-specific walk stack function. it's quite simple and
requires EBP frames (hence CONFIG_OMIT_FP). rationale: dbghelp requires
~30 seconds (!) to start up. recent changes (tracking malloc callers via
debug_get_nth_caller) made this happen on every run, so added a
fast-path stack walker to avoid this.
This was SVN commit r3043.
ia32.asm: move get_current_context code here
wdbg_sym: revised get_context code; moved it into walk_stack (fixes bug
on non-ia32)
wsdl: bring in line with real SDL SDL_BUTTON_* (sorry nicolai!)
interact now checks for expected values of SDL_BUTTON.
This was SVN commit r2991.
vfs_tree: move bucket allocator to allocators.cpp
allocators: add matrix self-test
zip: remove redundant timing code and add CHECK_ZFILE everywhere
ogl_tex: implement app hook for overriding gl upload caps
tex: add CHECK_TEX everywhere
TextureManager: only call LoadTextures once (instead of for each file
type)
debug: add hook for translating error messages; add filtering mechanism
to only show interesting debug_printfs (WIP). restructured code:
debug_puts is the sysdep part, while debug_printf does filtering and
then calls that
This was SVN commit r2990.
Fix: Unix symbol resolver ignores NULL parameters like Windows resolver
instead of crashing.
Fix: Bugs and crashes in the input system, caused by wrong use of
SDL_BUTTON_* constants.
This was SVN commit r2984.
vfs: move public functions into vfs.cpp to avoid confusion (except
vfs_mount in vfs_mount.cpp, but that's obvious)
h_mgr: fix bug in filename display causing dir names to be truncated
main/gamesetup: replace 2 bools with flags; remove Atlas trampoline
functions (clutters up main.cpp)
atlas: use GameSetup.h instead of extern ..
This was SVN commit r2983.
vfs: now always check filter in VDir (Not only in debug mode)
vfs_tree: free VFS nodes to avoid them appearing as "leaks". bugfix in
bucket allocator - wasn't coping with exactly filled buckets correctly
all Handle users: add to_string method that writes the interesting parts
of a resource's user data to string.
h_mgr: show this information when a handle is closed
ogl_tex: add ogl_tex_find
add 2 timer clients
mem: now record address of function that allocated memory
GameSetup: fix shutdown order
Renderer: allow freeing individual alpha map textures (we cache the
composite)
This was SVN commit r2981.
textureentry: add performance note
list, text: fix mousewheel direction
input: was going to add a deque to allow registering handlers in back
and front. obviated by minimap fix, though. cleaned up a bit and renamed
stuff (again, sigh).
loaderthunks: fixed weird alignment/padding warning
This was SVN commit r2979.
ia32, sysdep: add rint()
minimap: saw TODO on GetMapSpaceCoords and sped it up by 15% using rintf
and precalculating scaleX
timer: add indication of how often something was billed (helps measure
stuff called an indeterminate number of times)
This was SVN commit r2973.
terrain: made const-correct
lib: Add round_up_to_pow2
minimap: cleanup. split user input and DrawViewRect out of Draw; add
m_Camera; made pointers const; user local x,x2 variables instead of
writing out m_CachedActualSize
This was SVN commit r2970.
-move tex_codec stuff out of tex.cpp and into tex_codec.cpp
-tex_codec: use linked list of codecs instead of array (simplifies code
and removes limit)
-ogl_tex: add override mechanism for s3tc/automipmapgen extension detect
-tired of keeping of debug_warn text in sync with function name; now use
__func__ everywhere (and emulate that with __FUNCTION__ on MSC)
-add ONCE_NOT (opposite of ONCE)
-fix 3!! stupid bugs in ia32_control87, its caller and the header that
were canceling each other out. float exceptions now enabled except for
"inexact result" (too common). (update: nicolai had already fixed 2 of
these)
This was SVN commit r2964.
- enable floating point exceptions (helps catch bugs)
file.cpp: improved error checking in dir_open/dir_next_ent code
vfs.h: expand docs; add note on patching + SCM
main: use spf (1/fps) to derive TimeSinceLastFrame (makes for smoother
updates)
timer: rename SUM_TIMER to TIMER_ACCRUE. interface change allows
unlimited number of timers (instead of static limit as before).
documented everything
This was SVN commit r2958.
GUI/input code: moved g_active, g_keys etc. into ps/Globals; it has its
own input handler as well
all users of fopen(): add file_make_full_native_path to get correct path
even though current dir = system/
This was SVN commit r2954.
TextureEntry: add SUM_TIMER around base color calculation
Zip: add SUM_TIMER around inflate/memcpy
main: re-removed g_MaxZoomHeight - this doesn't belong in the message
loop. it resides in GameView.cpp
This was SVN commit r2945.
wsdl: initialise handles such that wsdl_shutdown doesn't try to close
them if they remain unchanged.
GameSetup: made work in Atlas.
Renderer: fixed progressive loading of water textures.
This was SVN commit r2941.
config: proper detect for clock_gettime
file: file_rel_chdir -> file_set_root_dir; it no longer changes current
directory; instead, root dir is prepended to all paths (not that bad
perf-wise)
netlog: avoid a CRT assert if log file open failed. now that current dir
is no longer being set, we need to think about what will happen to the
logs - they either need to use file_make_full_native_path, or use the
entire file.cpp interface instead of fopen etc.
This was SVN commit r2936.
wsdl: add proper event queuing mechanism (no longer requires hacky
polling for changes and avoids WM_USER)
rename keys[] and mouse_buttons to g_keys and g_mouse_buttons
fix flipped mouse wheel direction; wsdl now sends up AND down event
(removed 'reset' hack in main.cpp)
main: clean up event handler and kill_mainloop
This was SVN commit r2934.
ogl_tex: bind() implementation much simplified; also fix bug that set
TMU correctly when disabling texturing
wsdl: fix stdout.txt redirect; now works regardless of current
directory. also no longer disable file buffering except when in full
debug mode (because it's so slow). also add minimize button to caption
bar in windowed mode.
This was SVN commit r2919.
dyn_array.h -> allocators.h
ogl_tex: reenable performance warning
tex: comments
h_mgr: debug_printf if long filename is passed in (so we notice)
wsdl: squelch DestroyWindow warning. will look into the cause.
sysdep: slightly simplify "restrict" determination
This was SVN commit r2916.
