1c1200a049 - massive overhaul of lib error code returning. int -> LibError everywhere.
- add translators from errno and GetLastError to LibError
- clarified return values of callbacks (they must return
INFO_CB_CONTINUE to continue)
- this exposed a few bugs in error handling chains (returning incorrect
values); also reduced say-nothing instances of return -1.
- move CHECK_ERR etc. macros to lib_error

This was SVN commit r3229.

9476dc4ad0 ia32: remove _ceil, mark functions as being sysdep implementations; prefix fpucw constants with IA32 to avoid conflicts
sysdep: remove round; document several functions; use ia32.h header
instead of a hack that extern-declared sysdep functions that are
implemented as macro-redirection
wsdl: add SDL_EnableKeyRepeat stub; group related functions in header
together; no longer need OS_WIN wrapper around that

This was SVN commit r3115.

14c62e721d ia32, sysdep: add float->int implementation and fallback version and self-test
config: add macro that determines when it's used
Terrain, wtime: use new float->int code

1a0744c9db Do not mess with FPU rounding control on Linux.
It significantly affects at least the software lighting calculations.

This was SVN commit r3103.

6668ad6e1c CTerrain, Brushes: made CalcFromPosition static and added float x,y overload
minimap, PatchRData, renderer: fix ELOSState comparison vs & and use
SAFE_DELETE
ia32: add rounding control constants (for FISTP)
premake: set /QIfist compiler setting which causes float->int casts to
go through FISTP instruction instead of _ftol2() (much faster, but
requires CPU state to have been set)
LOSManager.cpp: cache m_TilesPerSize; use MIN/MAX; use
CTerrain::CalcFromPosition; clean up GetUnitState a bit. now runs at
203ns, down from 222

This was SVN commit r3099.

5213ca6f56 use "standard" _control87 _EM* flag names instead of our own names; also #undef (required since system header values aren't what we want)
This was SVN commit r2965.

b17fbf003d -move app-specific stuff out of lib/ and into "hooks". see new lib/app_hooks* (note X macro goodness)
-move tex_codec stuff out of tex.cpp and into tex_codec.cpp
-tex_codec: use linked list of codecs instead of array (simplifies code
and removes limit)
-ogl_tex: add override mechanism for s3tc/automipmapgen extension detect
-tired of keeping of debug_warn text in sync with function name; now use
__func__ everywhere (and emulate that with __FUNCTION__ on MSC)
-add ONCE_NOT (opposite of ONCE)
-fix 3!! stupid bugs in ia32_control87, its caller and the header that
were canceling each other out. float exceptions now enabled except for
"inexact result" (too common). (update: nicolai had already fixed 2 of
these)

This was SVN commit r2964.

b350f54162 ogl_tex: centralize OpenGL caps detection; allow user override for broken card/driver combos
- enable floating point exceptions (helps catch bugs)
file.cpp: improved error checking in dir_open/dir_next_ent code
vfs.h: expand docs; add note on patching + SCM
main: use spf (1/fps) to derive TimeSinceLastFrame (makes for smoother
updates)
timer: rename SUM_TIMER to TIMER_ACCRUE. interface change allows
unlimited number of timers (instead of static limit as before).
documented everything

This was SVN commit r2958.

ece006f43e sysdep: add restrict keyword (placebo if not supported)
gfx: extern "C"-ed
wtime, util, win, wdbg_sym: minor / commenting only
wdetect: don't skip gfx_card detect if buffer already filled
glext_funcs: remove obsolete defs

detect: call both OpenGL and platform-specific gfx_card detect; cleanup
vendor name to remove copyright/Inc crap

ogl: remove some variables that don't belong. moved vendor cleanup to
detect. moved S3TC emu code to ogl_tex

6fc1f45fa6 Stab at fixing the VertexArray compile error on VC++.
Added float-to-byte color conversion, including an SSE assembler
version.
Model renderer: Push UV coordinates into a shared vertex array and use
bytes instead of floats for the color array, thereby, significantly
reducing
the total size of vertex arrays.

This was SVN commit r2827.

c50505f54c read intel doc on multicore, realized it'd break our #cpu detect (which is actually critical because it determines safety of TSC). wrote new CPU detect code which should fix it (wasn't easy, grr); cannot test for lack of Pentium EE hardware ;p
This was SVN commit r2722.

a0a01e7a7d Linux/GCC Compat, added some includes, ported inline assembly stuff to gnu syntax (and misc. cleanup in ia32.cpp)
This was SVN commit r2702.

5299dcad86 - config: all macros are defined as 1 / 0. testing with #if allows compiler warnings (testing undefined macro) to spot misspelled macros
- debug: add provision for naming threads. allows adding current thread
name to log messages and displays their names in the debugger.
- replaced various if(err < 0) complain() sequences with new variants of
CHECK_ERR (see lib.h)
- fixes to mmgr/VC debug alloc enable code
- improved h_mgr error reporting (now complains when h_free fails)
- US -> UK english (partial)
- fix tex_load double-free bug
- move win32 mouse cursor code into sysdep
- error dialog is now topmost to make sure it's visible (was a problem)
- handle WM_QUIT before displaying error dialog (makes sure it's shown)

also as in previous 3 revisions.

This was SVN commit r2588.

ec6b78b252 rename assert2 debug_assert; use instead of all plain assert(), since there are no longer any issues (e.g. can't use while handling an exception)

lib.h: reorder error codes (more clear) and add a few

detect.cpp, gfx.h: move gfx_mem (amount of video memory) here from ogl

550bbec3d0 hopefully fixed bug #57 (limit on version info length was too low). while at it, made cpu_type's length externally visible; split sound stuff into sysdep/snd.h (as with gfx, cpu, mem) and in general cleaned up a bit.
This was SVN commit r2151.
