4fbaea3780 # fix for exceptions when not running in debugger
move exception-specific stuff into wseh. it now grabs the entry point
and wraps it in a __try block (but only for the main EXE).
this works around issues with the previous SEH registration code
(exceptions weren't caught in release mode when not running in debugger)

This was SVN commit r5151.

db189468a9 (update-workspace required)
found another means of doing startup/shutdown that doesn't require
hooking and allows init callbacks to use CRT functions (avoiding
problems similar to the recent rash of pre-libc bugs). also, callback
registration no longer needs ugly #pragma syntax.

fba692c8b5 # Fixed some warnings and potentially misleading code
* Removed ToJSVal<jsval> because it's treated as ToJSVal<long> and
causes minor confusion and/or compiler errors.
Changed script interface functions to return either C++ types or a
jsval_t wrapper.
 * Replaced some C casts with static_cast to avoid significant confusion
and to cause compiler errors instead.
 * Removed some redundant argument-checking code. Simplified some
string-generating code.
 * Fixed some "dereferencing type-punned pointer will break
strict-aliasing rules" warnings (from `g++ -O3`).

add update mechanism (needed to safely handle counter rollover) and
lock-free synchronization.

ec69bccb2c # Tidied up some code.
- Made some classes not be singletons, since there's no reason why they
should be.
 - Made them non-global too (because globals have unclear lifetimes, and
make it harder to test things, etc). They're now owned by CGameView and
CWorld, and mostly accessed via g_Game or arguments (vaguely trying to
avoid the graphics code calling into the game code).
 - Moved CGameView implementation into pimpl, so the header file isn't
so heavy.

never NULL.

* Skinning is done in a way that works when there's more than one bone

 * PMDs now store vertexes in world-space instead of bind-space. (The

 * Moved SkinPoint, SkinNormal into CModelDef so it could use them when
loading the old PMDs.
 * Made the FastNormals approach non-optional, so the inverse-transpose
bone matrices could be removed. Changed the explanation of why it's a
valid approach.
 * Quaternion: Made GetInverse assume that the quaternions have unit
length (which they do when they're representing 3D rotations).
 * lib: Added support for DDS files that aren't a multiple of 4x4 (most
useful for 1x1, 2x2, etc that are still powers of two).

shadows are visible. Changed default so walk/run animations don't move

35e91718c5 # Added tool for viewing models and animations outside the game.
Atlas: Added ActorViewer. Moved GL canvas into separate class for shared
use. Disabled message-handling callback while blocked on the game, and
stopped creating dialog boxes inside the game thread in order to avoid
deadlocks (hopefully). Support multiple Views (for independent sets of
camera/update/render code). Recalculate territory boundaries when
necessary. Changed default list of animations to match those currently
used by actors.
# Tidied up more code.
Moved some more #includes out of .h files, to minimise unnecessary
compilation.
MathUtil: Deleted unused/unuseful macros (M_PI (use PI instead), M_PI_2
(use PI/2), MAX3, ABS (use abs)).
ObjectManager: Removed some ScEd-specific things.
Unit: Moved creation out of UnitManager, so units can be created without
adding to the manager. Changed CStr8 to the more conventional CStr.
app_hooks: Removed warning for setting multiple times.
win: Restored SEH catcher.
GameSetup, GameView: Removed RenderNoCull, because it doesn't seem to do
what it says it does ("force renderer to load everything") since we're
loading-on-demand most stuff and it doesn't seem especially useful since
we'd prefer to minimise loading times (but feel free to correct me if
I'm wrong). (And because it crashes when things need to be initialised
in a different order, so it's easier to remove than to understand and
fix it.)
PatchRData, Renderer: Work sensibly when there's no game (hence no LOS
manager, water, etc).
LOSManager: Use entity position instead of actor position when possible.
TerritoryManager: Allow delayed recalculations (so Atlas can issue lots
of move+recalculate commands per frame).
Cinematic: Non-pointer wxTimer, so it doesn't leak and doesn't have to
be deleted manually.

Premake: Changed to use PCH when compiling tests.
CxxTest: Got rid of /Wp64 warnings. Changed TS_ASSERT_STR_EQUALS to
print both strings on failure.
win_internal: Added the bits that CxxTest::Win32Gui needs (because
Win32Gui is now compiled with PCH and uses our sysdep headers).

its name.

LightEnv - has byte order marks
Texture - conv from int to GLint wasn't allowed
JSConversion - to use isfinite you need the std:: namespace

ScriptableComplex - when implementing methods it did not like default

replaced all (*) CStr / CStrW by-value params with const reference. hoo
boy.

please always perform this optimization (actually standard idiom) when

* ScriptableComplex.h: big bang (several hundred ms) for little buck:
made all CStrW params const CStrW& instead. this should *always* be done

modified (in which case compiler will tell you)

eaf12ae666 #fix to isnan() bug
big thanks to philip for seeing the problem! :D
cause: not popping FPU stack. didn't happen on my athlonXP presumably
due to different FPU usage (possibly in drivers): pushing 8 values could
clear the stack and mask overflow. the cause was not due to compiler
(and FLD/FSTP param passing) because Philip uses VC2005 as well, but saw
the crash (on P4 CPU)

6f9da5da7a # refactor vfs/file code (unify interface, dispatch between providers via virtual functions)
1) unify open/io interfaces: no longer distinguish between FileIo /
AFileIo. instead, one FileIo struct is always used; the
provider-specific data is embedded within it. this avoids the need for a
"base class", which is hard to access (f.fc.flags is ugly)
2) rename x_* redirector to xfile_* and move out of vfs_mount into
separate file
3) xfile is now implemented via "virtual functions" (avoids a lot of
boilerplate code)
4) xfile was too closely tied to vfs_mount (used internal fields);
fixed.

dda6268466 - cgui: now convert EventName to lowercase in SendEventToAll
- compression: now use "fastest" compression mode and more memory unless
in FINAL build. this greatly speeds up archive generation at expense of
1.5% size increase (fine during development). done because profiling
shows ZLib accounts for 78% of CPU; practically nothing else shows up,
which shows effectiveness of compressing in parallel with reading from
disk.

their long_lived flag carried over; this caused a "not freed
immediately" warning.
