fcfa746244 Linux compat changes, fix for (really old) bug in VertexBufferManager shutdown, GUI header reorganization for gcc 4.0
This was SVN commit r3437.
2006-01-29 18:23:47 +00:00
3ea5fa5b46 Lots of fixes for the Linux build:
- renamed sysdep/unix/ functions where necessary
- more int -> LibError conversions in the sysdep/unix/ part
- added some explicit #include statements where necessary
- moved enum LibError/ErrorReaction declarations
(gcc doesn't support forward enum declarations)

This was SVN commit r3267.

1c1200a049 - massive overhaul of lib error code returning. int -> LibError everywhere.
- add translators from errno and GetLastError to LibError
- clarified return values of callbacks (they must return
INFO_CB_CONTINUE to continue)
- this exposed a few bugs in error handling chains (returning incorrect
values); also reduced say-nothing instances of return -1.
- move CHECK_ERR etc. macros to lib_error

This was SVN commit r3229.

e2f25f4598 - self test: rename stuff to SELF_TEST*; add provision for delayed all-at-once self tests (allows for init before the test and makes measuring elapsed time easier)
- config: add CONFIG_TRACE
- display_error_impl->sys_display_error
- cleaned up sysdep; add sys_ prefix everywhere and document everything
- add to vfs_load dox
- cursor: sys_cursor_load -> sys_cursor_create. sysdep code is no longer
dependent on tex; instead of calling tex_load, the caller passes a BGRA
texture in.
memcpy: huge kick in the pants for accompanying paper; now even faster.
- on_each_cpu -> sys_on_each_cpu (removed manager function also)
- wsdl: explain PeekMessage CPU usage issue

This was SVN commit r3203.

eee7fca2d3 move atomic_add and CAS_ into pure asm.
this is good in general (less dependence on compiler) and is intended to
work around a bug andrew has been seeing. apparently VC generates
invalid code for the parameters + ASSERT, which causes infinite
recursion on the <location> validation.

This was SVN commit r3142.

9476dc4ad0 ia32: remove _ceil, mark functions as being sysdep implementations; prefix fpucw constants with IA32 to avoid conflicts
sysdep: remove round; document several functions; use ia32.h header
instead of a hack that extern-declared sysdep functions that are
implemented as macro-redirection
wsdl: add SDL_EnableKeyRepeat stub; group related functions in header
together; no longer need OS_WIN wrapper around that

This was SVN commit r3115.

14c62e721d ia32, sysdep: add float->int implementation and fallback version and self-test
config: add macro that determines when it's used
Terrain, wtime: use new float->int code
detect: no longer change _MCW_RC

This was SVN commit r3114.

8c437850e6 allocators: add include guard and posix.h (needed for PROT_*)
debug: add debug_is_code_ptr and debug_is_stack_ptr
config: add CONFIG_OMIT_FP (needed for ia32_stackwalk).
h_mgr: hyperparanoid overrun detection straightjacket for key2idx - now
safe to use at any time and any unexpected changes cause access
violation.
ia32: add ia32_get_call_target, which disassembles backwards and checks
for a valid CALL instruction + its target
wdbg_sym: add win-specific walk stack function. it's quite simple and
requires EBP frames (hence CONFIG_OMIT_FP). rationale: dbghelp requires
~30 seconds (!) to start up. recent changes (tracking malloc callers via
debug_get_nth_caller) made this happen on every run, so added a
fast-path stack walker to avoid this.

This was SVN commit r3043.

39060e7900 cinput, ogl_shader, h_mgr, vfs: stomp on warnings
ia32, sysdep: add rint()
minimap: saw TODO on GetMapSpaceCoords and sped it up by 15% using rintf
and precalculating scaleX
timer: add indication of how often something was billed (helps measure
stuff called an indeterminate number of times)

This was SVN commit r2973.

b8c2f424e7 glDrawRangeElements -> glDrawRangeElementsEXT (fixes compilation error; EXT/ARB/etc extensions need to be used for everything not in GL1.1)
Reinserted mu-like symbol.
Fixed some minor warnings.

6fc1f45fa6 Stab at fixing the VertexArray compile error on VC++.
Added float-to-byte color conversion, including an SSE assembler
version.
Model renderer: Push UV coordinates into a shared vertex array and use
bytes instead of floats for the color array, thereby, significantly
reducing
the total size of vertex arrays.

This was SVN commit r2827.

27539d25e8 improvements to memcpy; cleaned up the whole thing and ia32 is now done (knock on wood)
executive summary: memcpy2 aka. ia32_memcpy is a drop-in replacement
that is much faster than memcpy (7% on small buffers, 300% on 192K
buffers)

This was SVN commit r2729.

c50505f54c read intel doc on multicore, realized it'd break our #cpu detect (which is actually critical because it determines safety of TSC). wrote new CPU detect code which should fix it (wasn't easy, grr); cannot test for lack of Pentium EE hardware ;p
This was SVN commit r2722.

a2622cdef7 hotfix for bug in ia32 (code path where ebx was clobbered due to cpuid; incorrect ptr arithmetic passing cpu_type to ia32_cpuid)
+ manual Release build that fixes it

This was SVN commit r2718.

f8ed148370 cpuid -> ia32_cpuid
considerable continued cleanup in ia32
came across article detailing HT detect on multicore systems. that
requires new code, working on it.
pthread: while reading, came across idea of wrapping thread trampoline
in __except -> more reliable exception handling

This was SVN commit r2716.

fd3437d181 lib: add CPU error code.
ia32: replace get_cur_processor_id with cpuid(0); move cpuid(func, regs)
to asm - it takes care of detecting cpuid.

5299dcad86 - config: all macros are defined as 1 / 0. testing with #if allows compiler warnings (testing undefined macro) to spot misspelled macros
- debug: add provision for naming threads. allows adding current thread
name to log messages and displays their names in the debugger.
- replaced various if(err < 0) complain() sequences with new variants of
CHECK_ERR (see lib.h)
- fixes to mmgr/VC debug alloc enable code
- improved h_mgr error reporting (now complains when h_free fails)
- US -> UK english (partial)
- fix tex_load double-free bug
- move win32 mouse cursor code into sysdep
- error dialog is now topmost to make sure it's visible (was a problem)
- handle WM_QUIT before displaying error dialog (makes sure it's shown)

also as in previous 3 revisions.

This was SVN commit r2588.

- A few new net messages (gather, attack, add waypoint)
- Support for new messages in network->entity order converter
- Implemented rudimentary JS interface for Interaction
- issueCommand JS API, connected to the network
- Removed Interaction stuff now replaced by JS
- And something in there should probably break VS builds :P

This was SVN commit r2316.

468657479c philip points out precompiled.h -> string_s.h includes posix.h - too heavy for the PCH
replaced that with posix_types.h, which now defines size_t.
this change exposed a lot of code that relied on posix.h being included
implicitly; fixed those as well.

This was SVN commit r2015.
