8b08f4ae7a Change GUI settings to explicitly be member variables.
Completes work starting in D2313 / a33fd55e81:
- Make C++ mistakes where values can be changed without messages being
sent easier to notice / harder to do.
- Make the IGUISetting interface more flexible, allowing custom settings
implementing their own logic. This is used to clean up hotkey code
introduced in 33af6da5e1.

Side effects:
- FromJSVal_Vector clears the vector being passed in. I have some vague
memory of not doing that in D24 / 2bae30c454 as an optimisation, but it
seems more like a footgun to me.
- Most usage of SetSettingFromString is replaced by direct method calls,
as we can generally cast to the proper GUI object type. Where we can't,
it is kept as a poor's man virtual dispatch.
- It moves a few member variables elsewhere, e.g. TextOwner now gets its
own member variable settings.

d9748173c7 Generalize icon-specific tooltips to a tag, streamline code.
We can currently specify a custom tooltip for an icon. This extends that
to a generic tag `[tooltip='something']...[/tooltip]` for any particular
piece of text, and removes the iconTooltip hardcoding by instead using a
virtual `GetTooltipText` call since all IGUIObject descendants have a
tooltip. This is both cleaner & more efficient.
Removes the ability to set a custom tooltip style (that doesn't seem
particularly useful), it'll reuse the style of the CText itself.

8190293f8b Remove virtual inheritance from the codebase, refs 6b51d71c85, e21ebb37f5 e326ebae46.
Remove workaround in 3d07327837 / D2136, the pointer from IGUIObject to
IGUITextOwner that avoided the dynamic_cast.
Have the GUIObject implementing class take responsibility of calling the
virtual methods in the base classes.
Leaves the code in a clean state that can serve as an example for new
GUI object classes, such as D1346, refs #4683.

1a49ccb294 Move static GUI<>::SetSetting operating on IGUIObject to a member IGUIObject::SetSetting.
Remove PSERROR codes from SetSetting (let std::map throw an out_of_range
if a caller wants to Set a setting that doesn't exist without having
checked with SettingExists, equal to GetSetting from 92b6cdfeab).
That also simplifies std::function SetSettingWrap construct from
0a7d0ecdde to void IGUIObject::SettingChanged.
Don't trigger debug_warn or exceptions in GUITooltip::ShowTooltip if the
XML author specified wrong tooltip input, and dodge another
dynamic_cast.

Rename existing IGUIObject::SetSetting to
IGUIObject::SetSettingFromString and comment that it is purposed for
parsing XML files.
Remove SetSetting default value, so that authors are made aware
explicitly of the need to decide the function broadcasting a message,
refs d87057b1c0, 719f2d7967, ...
Change const bool& SkipMessage to const bool SendMessage, so that a
positive value relates to a positive action.
Clean AddSettings whitespace and integer types.

0a6b650189 Delete SGUIMessage GUIM_SETTINGS_UPDATED broadcasts redundant with the broadcast initiated from SetSetting from e21ebb37f5.
659a9ea57a introduced the call rightfully in ShowTooltip since
CTooltip::SetupText() depends on the just changed _mousepos setting.
But then 0382cdd9b1 moved that _mousepos SetSetting call, resulting in
the message becoming redundant; and it inserted the second redundant
message in HideTooltip.

These were the only redundant SGUIMessage HandleMessage calls.

040624acff Replace copy-assigning GUI<T>::GetSetting from c2a71e41bf with the reference returning GetSetting from 3dfa23cd25.
Avoids one or two dozen unoptimizable string copies and two CPos copies,
mostly in SetupText.

The reference return allows to mark values as const where the previous
one prevented that.
This also reveals unused variables where the previous code hid them.

Thus use unused variable "buffer_zone" in the otherwise unused (since
b1422137e5, refs 0f807c643a) CCheckBox::SetupText() from b5f6d19332 and
use the unused variable "scrollbar" in CInput GUIM_MOUSE_PRESS_LEFT from
4113aa0a36.

Refs unintentionally copied DrawCall cache due to GetSetting copying in
c19f3608a5, fixed in 8f4f8e240f.

Remove the remaining of such checks after d3e56f0f57 removed 21 of them

74c420f658 GUI code cleanup. Fixes #3354.
Lots of code style fixes:
 * type [*&]varname -> type[*&] varname
 * else
   if (...)
   ->
   else if (...)
 * Spaces around some ops.
 * i++ -> ++i.
 * switch-case style fixes.
 * Indentation fixes.
 * Removing some commented out code.
 * include header sorting
 * Changed multiple pointer var declarations to be one per line.
 * Removed strange spaces in some places.
 * Changed some include header guards to be consistent with the rest of
the codebase.
 * Use UNUSED() instead of UNUSED2().

Some small code fixes:
 * Using .find() instead of .count() == 0.
 * !.empty() instead of .size() == 0.
 * Range-based for loops.
 * Making some member functions const by small changes.
   * Adds GetScrollBarPos(idx) const for this.
 * Using early returns/continues in some places.
 * Uses size_t for some loops in CList and COList.
 * Removes unused heading element (not attribute) from COList.
 * Use ENSURE in one case where some custom code did something similar.
 * Made some parameters const ptrs/refs.
 * Change removal loop in GUItext.cpp to erase-unique.
 * Made some static things const.
 * Allow iterating over children of IGUIObject with range-based for
loops by
   exposing begin() and end() (rename from ChildrenIt{Begin,End}()) and
use it.

Comments:
 * Comment COList.
 * Update a few comments.
 * Remove useless or duplicated comments.

4663ac0fe7 split debug_assert into ENSURE and ASSERT as discussed in a previous meeting.
the old debug_assert always ran and tested the expression, which slows
down release builds. wrapping them in #ifndef NDEBUG is clumsy. the new
ASSERT behaves like assert and ENSURE like the old debug_assert. Let's
change any time-critical but not-super-important ENSURE to ASSERT to
speed up release builds. (already done in bits.h and unique_range.h)

a859562ea7 improvements and fixes:
- properly differentiate between buffer/offset alignment and length
alignment (relevant since block size has been increased to 256k)
- use VfsPath for most game paths instead of CStr
- clean up timer interface and implementation
- self-tests no longer crash
- file_cache.cpp: fix for the case where allocation fails (prevent
deleter from seeing a null pointer)
- allocators: move all shared_ptr-related stuff to its own component;
add DummySharedPtr
- codec: disable checksums (important for performance at work)
- File: made into an interface class to avoid export problems. not
entirely sure about this..
- vfs_path.h, path.h, os_path.h: proper fix for using
fs::change_extension and similar utility functions with derivatives of
basic_path
- lib_api: automatically link against import lib if building lib/ as a
DLL
- path_util: remove unused functions (this component is deprecated)
- compiler.h: add INLINE
- Xeromyces.cpp: pass PIVFS so that GetXMBPath works in self-test
(should do this mostly everywhere rather than have one singleton g_VFS)
