- use wrapper class instead of std::wstring (reduces mixing of
strings/paths; allows safe+easy join via operator/ and convenient
case-insensitive comparison via operator==, avoids NativePathFromString,
similar to boost::filesystem)
- NativePath -> OsPath
- add hash and To/FromJSVal for Path
- add TS_ASSERT_PATH_EQUALS
- replace _wfopen_s with sys_OpenFile
- remove obsolete SortFiles/Directories
This was SVN commit r9107.
(NB: the debug_filter stuff remains non-reentrant because it's usually
only called from main() or at least the main thread)
closes#654
This was SVN commit r8543.
Shrink some OglTex fields so that it fits in the size limit.
Add function to efficiently read the 1x1 mipmap level's colour.
Add RGB->RGBA and BGR->RGBA transforms.
Fix DXT1a detection logic.
Fix OglTex_validate failing when ogl_max_tex_size == -1 (e.g. before
ogl_Init is called).
This was SVN commit r8097.
- sprintf, snprintf -> sprintf_s (ensures 0-termination of result)
- use %s instead of %hs with sprintf_s to avoid GCC warnings
- convert h_mgr's to_string to unicode
This was SVN commit r7170.
also clean up VFS a bit.
ogl_tex now tolerates deleting/renaming texture files that are in use
(except for a warning message which can be 'continue'd)
This was SVN commit r7166.
debug: cleanup
ogl_tex, tex: use full-width types to avoid truncation warnings
wdbg_sym.cpp: skip __suppress and __profile symbols; add additional hex
display for floats; cleanup
wdll_ver.cpp: cppdoc+cleanup (remove non-reentrant C interface, replace
with std::string)
sysdep: add cppdoc
everything else: flag parameters are now consistently size_t instead of
int (avoids warnings, allows slightly better code on x64)
This was SVN commit r6392.
this snowballed into a massive search+destroy of the hodgepodge of
mostly equivalent types we had in use (int, uint, unsigned, unsigned
int, i32, u32, ulong, uintN).
it is more efficient to use 64-bit types in 64-bit mode, so the
preferred default is size_t (for anything remotely resembling a size or
index). tile coordinates are ssize_t to allow more efficient conversion
to/from floating point. flags are int because we almost never need more
than 15 distinct bits, bit test/set is not slower and int is fastest to
type. finally, some data that is pretty much directly passed to OpenGL
is now typed accordingly.
after several hours, the code now requires fewer casts and less
guesswork.
other changes:
- unit and player IDs now have an "invalid id" constant in the
respective class to avoid casting and -1
- fix some endian/64-bit bugs in the map (un)packing. added a
convenience function to write/read a size_t.
- ia32: change CPUID interface to allow passing in ecx (required for
cache topology detection, which I need at work). remove some unneeded
functions from asm, replace with intrinsics where possible.
This was SVN commit r5942.
- use helper functions to reduce occurrences of BLOCK_SIZE and
SECTOR_SIZE
- wmi: provide for shutting it down (gets rid of its two threads); only
initialize if actually needed (costs 200ms)
- ogl_tex: don't complain if there's no gfx_card info (due to not having
used wmi)
This was SVN commit r5572.
(see http://www.wildfiregames.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=11450&hl= )
clean up debug module
. no longer include platform-dependent header (-> less rebuilds)
. DISPLAY_ERROR -> DEBUG_DISPLAY_ERROR
. parts of config.h that don't affect all files moved to config.2 (->
fewer full rebuilds)
. remove creaky symbol cache (no longer needed for mmgr)
. remove TLS thread naming stuff (can use debugger's thread window
instead; no need for platform independence there)
wdbg: remove thread suspension and breakpoint APIs (not needed)
acpi: fix: u64 -> uintptr_t
wutil: fix WinScopedLock, use that instead of direct lock() functions
misc:
. get rid of SAFE_STRCPY, replace with strcpy_s
. remove _getcwd (shouldn't be used)
This was SVN commit r5563.
- directoryPosix: replace most methods with boost filesystem (but not
all: the latter cannot efficiently enumerate files AND query their
size/mtime)
- AllocatorChecker: better name for member functions
- file: move the File class here
- trace: bugfix
- io: move UnalignedWriter to write_buffer.cpp (basically the same
thing)
- vfs: remove unnecessary "vfs" warts from variable names
- vfs_tree: VfsFile now stores single Name/Size/MTime fields instead of
the FileInfo record (less clunky)
- vfs_path: use boost filesystem's version of the basename/extension
functions
- lf_alloc: remove (no longer necessary, won't be finished - not worth
the trouble)
- path_util: remove path_foreach_component (replaced by better path
traversal logic) and PathPackage (obsoleted by fs::path)
! resource loading code now receives VfsPath as its filename. there is
also OsPath (native absolute path) and Path (relative to binaries/data)
- tex is now independent of file loading code; it just en/decodes
in-memory buffers
- wdll_ver: clean up, use smart pointer to simplify bailout code
- wsdl: remove nonexistent failure path from calc_gamma (cruised by here
because SDL_SetGamme is failing once after a cold boot at work)
- wsnd: simplify OpenAL DLL search, use boost::filesystem
- wutil: Wow64 redirection is now packaged in a (RAII) class
This was SVN commit r5525.
- malloc+error checking -> new
- better callback parameter name consistency (ctx -> cbData)
file_io: replace another manual malloc+free with shared_ptr
wclipboard: robustify _get as well
This was SVN commit r5372.
. timer, config: fix definition of ALLOW_RDTSC
. add movsx_be64 (for whirlpool), revise implementation, move to
byte_order, add test
. MAX -> std::max, remove those macros
. add timestamp to system_info as requested by philip
This was SVN commit r5050.
. the massive renaming undertaking: camelCase functions -> PascalCase.
. add some cppdoc.
. minor additional renaming improvements: e.g. GetIsClosed -> IsClosed
. in entity code, replace constructs like "pvec = new vector; return
pvec; use *pvec; delete pvec" with a simple stack variable passed as
output parameter (avoid unnecessary dynamic allocs)
. timer: simpler handling of raw ticks vs normal timer (less #if)
This was SVN commit r5017.
thesis pointed out more dependencies that had to be stomped on.
0ad-specific apphooks are now in pyrogenesis.
added function AH_IS_DEFINED (useful for ogl_tex, which now has its own
default version of a hook)
This was SVN commit r4765.
- remove headers always included from PCH
- nommgr.h is only included ifdef REDEFINED_NEW (allows leaving out the
mmgr stuff)
- in lib/*.cpp, moved the corresponding include file to right behind the
PCH (catches headers that aren't compilable by themselves)
- byte_order no longer depends on SDL
- add debug_level (another means of filtering debug output; needed for
thesis)
- split posix stuff up into subdirs (lib/posix and sysdep/win/wposix).
makes including only some of the modules (e.g. sockets, time) much
easier.
This was SVN commit r4728.
- error codes now accessed as ERR::NO_MEM, INFO::OK etc.
- no more X-macros => the above are now recognized by visual assist
- error codes are defined by the module originating them (lib_errors has
some generic ones)
=> no full rebuild when adding some
- error descriptions are now in C++ files => can be changed without full
rebuild
added AT_STARTUP in lib.h.
This was SVN commit r4374.
* zip.h removed old test symbols
* path_util fixed bug in mixed-separating-slash handling
* renamed ERR_OK to INFO_OK; allows searching for "return ERR_" to yield
all actual errors (instead of having to filter out ERR_OK)
This was SVN commit r3945.
ia32: prepend CPUCap enum names and rdtsc with ia32 to avoid conflicts.
move all self tests into separate headers as required for Cxxtest.
adts: remove some dead code.
add CppDoc comments to debug, lib (with heavy cleanup), tex, tex_codec,
snd_mgr
slight improvements to path
tex: refactor; split out tex_decode and encode to allow self-test
This was SVN commit r3911.
- validators now WARN_RETURN as well (rationale documented in
lib_errors.h)
- got rid of some CHECK_ERR (try to avoid multiple errors for the same
underlying problem)
- H_DEREF now first checks if handle is invalid already and returns that
if so; avoids the need for a RETURN_ERR before it.
This was SVN commit r3799.
- split up detect.cpp into snd, cpu, gfx (headers were already split)
- rename detect functions for more clarity (e.g. get_cur_vmode ->
gfx_get_video_mode)
- rename lib/res/sound/snd to snd_mgr to avoid conflict with
sysdep/snd.cpp
- waio: set errno in aio_rw (addresses bug #73)
This was SVN commit r3745.
adts: use SAFE_FREE
config: add CONFIG_FINAL; use it in
compression,vfs_optimizer,scriptablecomplex
lib: add discussion of unreachable code avoidance; revise UNREACHABLE
and add NODEFAULT
ogl_tex, tex_dds: remove some unnecessary UNREACHABLE
sysdep: move compiler-specific implementation of UNREACHABLE here.
use NODEFAULT in snd, wdbg, wposix, wsdl
This was SVN commit r3739.
FILE_CACHE_BLOCK flag used more safely (copied in afile_read)
add file_sector_size (set from sysdep code)
documented and organized FileFlags
moved publically visible file_buf* decls to file.h; add FileBufFlags
file_buf_get: moved to file_io and renamed because it is not a part of
the file_buf manager itself
FILE_BLOCK_SIZE no longer exposed to users - it's an implementation
detail. for alignment purposes, you should use file_sector_size (less
wasteful)
add page_aligned allocator (mmap)
write buffers now allocated via file_buf_alloc(FB_FROM_HEAP) (avoids
wasting cache space)
append trace runs into the trace file (-> better input data for archive
ordering)
document lib_errors.h
tex_load: add provision for file_flags, used by ogl_tex_load to prevent
caching file data
simulation, entitymanager: add perf measurements
This was SVN commit r3725.
* replace all "return ERR_*" with WARN_RETURN(ERR_*) - makes sure
function failures are noticed *at the cause*, not later
* LibError_from_* now take bool warn_if_failed param
* replace more debug_warns with dedicated error codes (allows localized
error reports and doesn't spam the EXE with strings)
This was SVN commit r3722.
- remove ScEd hacks and CFont et al macro rename
- fix accursed bug in VFS buffer management that was causing ReadFile to
fail without error (not allocating enough padding)
- vfs_tree: bugfix in tree_lookup
- waio: temporarily disable sector size determination (pending better
approach - need to determine if using DVD drive)
This was SVN commit r3421.
- add translators from errno and GetLastError to LibError
- clarified return values of callbacks (they must return
INFO_CB_CONTINUE to continue)
- this exposed a few bugs in error handling chains (returning incorrect
values); also reduced say-nothing instances of return -1.
- move CHECK_ERR etc. macros to lib_error
This was SVN commit r3229.
